On December 12, the final of the 2023“I Love Changzhou”Chinese Speech Contest for International Students was held at the Changzhou Campus of Hohai University. Eighteen international student contestants from 12 countries including Indonesia, Russia, Tajikistan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Switzerland advanced to the final.
After fierce competition, Noblesse Mika Nsita, a student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, won the First Prize, and Makhsudov Mahmasaid, a student from theRepublic of Tajikistan, won the Second Prize. Li Ying from the School of Overseas Education received the Best Instructor Award, and our school was awarded the Outstanding Organization Award. Leaders from the Foreign Affairs Office of Changzhou Municipal People’s Government, Changzhou Language and Literature Work Committee, Changzhou Education Bureau,Changzhou Broadcasting System(CBS), and international affairs offices of Changzhou colleges and universities, attended the contest.
These achievements highlight our school’s focus on enhancing international students’interest in learning Chinese, encouraging them to better understand Chinese culture and Changzhou’s local culture. The contest not only improved student’comprehensive Chinese abilities but also helped them integrate into Changzhou’s cultural life.
