On December 7, the 5th“One World One CCIT”International Cultural Exchange Festival of our school opened at the large square of the First Canteen. Co-hosted by the School of Overseas Education and the Youth League Committee, the event included three themed sections: International Music Festival, International Food Festival, and International Art Exhibition, attracting over 130 international students from 22 countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Morocco, Mongolia, Vietnam, and South Korea, as well as many Chinese students.
Fei Yunsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our school, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, hoping that through this event, Chinese and foreign teachers and students can experience the diverse cultural and artistic charm of various countries, further promote cultural exchanges among young people, and continuously enhance the international atmosphere on campus.
After the brief opening ceremony, the International Music Festival and Food Festival began. At the Food Festival, 9 food booths representing countries and regions including China, Thailand, South Korea, and Mongolia were set up. Chinese and foreign students showcased their culinary skills, with booths filled with authentic national cuisines. Chinese students wore horse-facepleatedskirts (one of the main skirt styles of ancient Chinese women) and displayed Jiaozi (Chinese dumplings) andTangyuan (sweetglutinousrice balls). International students prepared Malaysian nasi lemak, Korean army stew, Mongolian cheese, Tajikistan plov, Thai spicy chicken salad, Vietnamese spring rolls, and Moroccan triangular pastries. Dressed in traditional costumes, the international students added exotic charm to the event. The lively scene attracted large numbers of teachers and students, who praised and encouraged the students while tasting the food.
As the highlight of the Cultural Exchange Festival, the International Music Festival drew a large audience. The performance kicked off with a lion dance by Malaysian students. In the“Fashion Show”, international students walked the stage in traditional attire, offering the audience an immersive journey through global fashion. The band“Guozi”performed“Ni Hong Tian Xin”, pushing the atmosphere to a climax, with the audience singing along. Thai students’four-part song and dance performance showcased the unique ethnic customs of different regions in Thailand. The medley“Yi Lu Sheng Hua”by Vietnamese and Indonesian students was sincere and melodious. Chinese Dance Club’s“Puff”Dance, African students’“Passionate Africa”, and South Korean students energized the audience, winning thunderous applause. Liu Yangxiu, a Thai international student, sang“Promise of June”, and as the music played, international students from all countries joined the stage to dance to the beat. Finally, the Blue Dream Choir of the University Art Troupe performed“Pian Zhang”, bringing the music festival to a successful close.
On December 8, during the International Art Exhibition, photographic works, intangible cultural heritage works, and other creations by Chinese and foreign students were displayed. Teachers and students could also experience graffiti creation and fun games like touhu (arrow throwing) and hoop tossing on-site.
The“One World One CCIT”International Cultural Exchange Festival is a carefully built international cultural brand of our school, becoming an annual cultural grand event. Adhering to the philosophy of diversity and inclusion, it provides a platform for international students from around the world to showcase and exchange, while serving as an important window for the school to display its international image.
