The Third "SFLEP Cup" National College Students’ Inter-cultural Competence Contest in the Yangtze River Delta Region Jiangsu Province Competition was successfully concluded on December 8th. Under the guidance of Liu Hui from the School of Overseas Education and Xu Ping from the Foreign Language Department, the competition team formed by international student Lu Mengqian, Chinese student Wang Hao and Chinese student Wang Chuyi won the special prize of the Jiangsu Province Competition.
The theme of this competition is "Strengthening Cultural Confidence and Enhancing International Understanding", which is consistent with the national talent training strategy and requires contemporary college students to have the ability to communicate across cultures with the love for China and an international perspective. The competition in Jiangsu province was guided by the Higher Education Association of Jiangsu Province, co-hosted by the Jiangsu Higher Education Institute of Foreign Languages Teaching Research Association, the Jiangsu Foreign Language Association, the Jiangsu Translators Association and the Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, and organized by the School of Foreign Languages of Southeast University.
This competition examined the ability of Chinese and foreign students in our school to analyze and solve problems in a multicultural environment, fully demonstrated the characteristics of our training programs for applied and compound overseas talents.
