Changzhou College of Information Technology, affiliated to Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, is the first National Demonstration Higher Vocational College in the country and the only one in Jiangsu Province. Besides, it is selected as one of the first batch of national pilot colleges and universities for the “1+X certificate system” and the first batch of higher vocational enrollment expansion pilot colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province.

Founded in 1962, the school was originally named Changzhou Qinye Electrical and Mechanical School. In 1980, it was renamed Changzhou Radio Industrial School. In October 2000, it was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and was established by the merger of Changzhou Radio Industrial School and Changzhou Electronic Workers University. The school is located in Changzhou Higher Vocational Park with beautiful scenery and modern atmosphere, which integrates teaching, scientific research, training, vocational skills appraisal and social services. It covers an area of 1,042 acres and has a total construction area of 320,300 square meters. There are 12,334 full-time students, 5,394 further education students, 95 full-time international students, and 824 faculty members. There are eight secondary colleges including the College of Software and Big Data, the College of Cyberspace Security, the College of Electronic Engineering, the College of Digital Economy, the College of Intelligent Equipment, the College of Digital Innovation, the College of Continuing Education (Industrial Artisan College), and the Overseas Education College. There are four teaching departments including the Marxism college, the basic teaching department, the university foreign language department and the sports department.

It has won the National Teaching Achievement Award for 4 consecutive years (3 first prizes and 3 second prizes), and has successively won 2 Jiangsu Provincial Teaching Achievement Special Awards, 6 first prizes, 13 second prizes, and the 2nd and the 3rd prizes of Jiangsu Science and Technology Award.
