From November 29 to December 1, 2024, the 7th SFLEP Cup National College Students’ Intercultural Competence Contest was held at Shanghai International Studies University.

After evaluation by experts, professors and scholars in the field of foreign languages and literature from universities, the competition team composed of three international students from our college, namely NOBLESSE MIKA NSITA from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, LEE YEON and KIM SOYEON from South Korea, guided by Li Ying, Jin Wei and Wang Hongkai from the School of Overseas Education, participated in the national competition as the only higher vocational college team in the country. Competing on the same stage with national undergraduate universities such as Nanjing University, Fudan University and Beijing International Studies University, the team won the national first prize.

In early November, our college’s contestants participated in the Jiangsu Provincial Division of the 7th SFLEP Cup National College Students’ Intercultural Competence Contest. After fierce competition with provincial undergraduate institutions, they won first place in Jiangsu. As the sole higher vocational college team from Jiangsu, they represented the province in the national semi-finals of the 7th SFLEP Cup National College Students’ Intercultural Competence Contest and advanced to the grand finals with the second-highest score nationwide. In the grand finals, the contestants demonstrated exceptional cross-cultural communication skills and a profound understanding of Chinese culture, leaving a deep impression on judges and audience members, and were awarded the national first prize.

Over the years, our college has been dedicated to building more dynamic platforms for Sino-foreign cross-cultural exchange through refined teaching and research and high-quality international education. We strive to contribute Changzhou College of Information Technology’s efforts to the high-quality cultivation of outstanding international student talent who can effectively spread China’s voice and promote cultural exchange.
